Voting history records whether a voter took part in an election. It never reveals selections made on the ballot. Email and phone fields may be visible to the signed-in voter but are not an invitation to treat the dashboard as a public contact list.
Confidential Redlands Voter Records
California separates personal access from disclosure to an approved voter-file requester. Elections Code sections 2188 and 2194 govern applications and permitted access to registration data. A voter may see a full date of birth, residence address, email, or phone in a secured personal gateway. Those fields do not become unrestricted public data merely because the voter can view them after an identity match.
Protected voter data. Confidential voters are excluded from public voter data requests. California Elections Code sections 2166, 2166.5, 2166.7, and 2166.8 provide confidential-registration protections, including address safeguards for eligible people.
The Secretary of State's Safe at Home program can provide eligible survivors and protected people with a substitute mailing address and mail forwarding. State guidance says confidential voter records are accessible only to staff with suitable security credentials and are never included in public voter data requests.

Certified Redlands Registration Proof
A Redlands voter who needs formal proof has two county choices. A certified copy of the voter's own application contains confidential information from that application. Requesting California Voter Files
A full county file has a narrow purpose test. California Elections Code sections 2188 and 2194 allow voter data for election, scholarly, journalistic, political, or governmental purposes. The application must identify the requester, state the purpose, specify the data or report, and acknowledge the duty to secure the records. General commercial use is prohibited.

- Describe the permitted purpose and the file, custom report, map, or recurring vote-by-mail data requested. Complete every required field.
- Sign the application with an original wet signature. Submit it in person or by mail, since the county does not treat an unsigned digital copy as the required original.
- Pay the amount in the current price sheet. County methods include cash, check, money order, cashier's check, or credit card.
The state maintains a separate voter information file request route. Its application also requires an original signature mailed to the Secretary of State; the form instructions say email and fax submissions are not accepted. Use the state route for a statewide request and the county route for San Bernardino County files, maps, or reports.

Redlands Voter Data Misuse
Approval to receive a voter file does not make the data free for any later use. Recipients are responsible for its security and must stay within the purpose stated on the application. San Bernardino County's voter privacy statement says commercial use of the information is prohibited by law and is a misdemeanor.
